This was a rainy Sunday, and I looked at the radar and observed an opportunity for a short hike before more storms affected the area. This is a very short and rewording hike in a remote area of Harriman State Park. The entrance plaque at the hike says Sterling Forest State Park when in fact the Trail Conference Maps show it as being Harriman (both parks are contiguous.)
I parked at the Wildcat Mountain Park and Ride/Trailhead parking at Route 17A and Route 17, and took the Wildcat Mountain Trail up the mountain the view, which faces the Thruway and Route 17, and the rest of Harriman. I then continued a bit further along the trail before the steeper climb, and then turned around and went back along the same route.
