The forecast called for rain all day Sunday. The rain had not yet arrived in the morning, but I did check the radar and it was drier further north and west. I therefore opted to do a hike further north and west, in Fahnestock State Park. The first half hour was dry, and then it started to rain, so I opted to keep the hike shorter.
I parked at Charcoal Burners Trailhead on Route 301, and took the trail north to the Cabot Trail. It then started raining before Jordan Pond, which is a scenic small lake. I then took this trail at the end at the new parking area, to the Perkins Trail, which I took back to the Charcoal Burners Trail which I took back to my car.
